1904- Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, was born (History).
1937- Published his first book, “And to Think I Saw It on Mulberry Street” (Dr. Seuss National Memorial).
1957- Dr. Seuss published “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (Biblio).
1966- “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” short film animation was created shown, directed by Chuck Jones (IMBD).
1967- Theodor’s first wife died and he married an old friend, Audrey Stone Geisel. She currently guards his legacy, and is the president of Dr. Seuss Enterprises (Dr. Seuss National Memorial).
1990- “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” is published, making it the last book that was published during Dr. Seuss’s lifetime (Google Books).
1991- Theodor Seuss Geisel died (Dr. Seuss National Memorial).
1994- The musical “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” written by Timothy Mason, debuted at the Minneapolis’s Children’s Theatre Company (Newsfeed).
1998- First performed at the Old Globe in San Diego, where it has been mounted every Christmas season since (Gans).
2000- Feature film, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” was released, starring Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen (IMBD).
2006- First performed on Broadway (BWW News Week).
2007- Show was halted due to strike, after negotiations resumed a month or so later (Viagas).
